MLI schreibt zum Ranking: „The practice is particularly renowned for its strength in complex and high-volume copyright disputes, and for its niche expertise in dealing with collecting societies. FREY has demonstrated outstanding competence in negotiating and judicially enforcing adequate remuneration and fair terms for its clients’ acquisition and exploitation of rights of use. In the sports sector, the firm represents sponsors, professional football clubs, sports associations, and motorsport stakeholders in the marketing of sports events and rights, with an additional focus on esports, as well as related regulatory, corporate, and competition law matters. FREY is also distinguished for its comprehensive media law practice, with a strong record advising on the production, distribution, and monetisation of content across all channels — including broadcasting, streaming, online platforms, and cable transmission — covering film, audiovisual works, music, and sports media. The firm regularly handles licensing structures, platform distribution models, advertising and unfair competition issues, and advises on regulatory media matters and data protection compliance in complex media environments. In recent years, the firm has demonstrated particular expertise in advising cross-industry clients on the legally compliant use of generative AI in media production and similar workflows, providing guidance at the intersection of copyright, data protection and personality rights.“
